We moved into our homes today! Katie is my roomie and our room is amazing! Our room has a sink and medicine cabinet and no bunk beds. It’s perfect and I feel so blessed. Our “chalet” is really neat too. It is on the top level with two separate bathrooms, a dining table, and a kitchen! I feel spoiled because our chalet is the only one like it. Our chalet mates (6 other girls) are also all really cool.
This morning we flew into Durban from J-burg and then drove to Pietermaritzburg. We got to the African Enterprise center (where we are staying) a little after lunch, and it is beautiful! It’s spring in South Africa so the flowers are starting to bloom. The center is comprised of a number of pretty little buildings located around the campus. A dense jungle like forest surrounds the center, which is on the top of a hill.
Right after we get out of the van the first thing we see in monkeys!! They are so funny and cute. They told us they will be a nuisance, but I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of them. They also told us there a few waterfalls located around the campus that we will be able to search for. We will also have tea twice a day and there is even a “Cougars Den: South Africa” here, which is a remake of the APU snack shop.
I can’t wait to explore the rest of the campus!
